About Us

Vicksburg High School has a proud tradition of excellence in both academics and extracurricular activities. Our dedicated staff is committed to offering rigorous academic opportunities while providing the support needed to ensure every student’s success. We strive to create a safe, nurturing, and challenging learning environment where all students can thrive. With strong support from our families and community, VHS takes great pride in helping students grow into individuals of high character.

Advanced Placement

Vicksburg High School is proud to offer a wide range of academic and extracurricular opportunities that support student growth and achievement. With nineteen Advanced Placement courses, nationally recognized fine arts programs, diverse club offerings, Career and Technical Education (CTE), Education for the Arts (EFA), dual enrollment options, and more, VHS provides students with numerous paths to success.

VHS is honored to be designated as an AP Capstone School, graduating our first cohort in the spring of 2021. This prestigious program, developed by the College Board, includes two year-long courses—AP Seminar and AP Research. Students who earn a score of 3 or higher in both, along with four additional AP exams, are awarded the AP Capstone Diploma—an achievement that elevates our entire AP Program and school community.

In addition to academics, VHS offers 26 varsity sports with strong student participation, and our students are actively engaged in service projects that benefit both Vicksburg and the greater Kalamazoo area. We are proud to be recognized as one of the Best High Schools in Michigan by U.S. News & World Report.

  • Mistakes are expected, inspected, and respected.
  • When students don’t learn the way we teach, we will find ways to teach the way they learn.
  • Assessments provide feedback that influences teaching and learning.
  • Students have ownership and vision for their education.
